Battle of Gettysburg
Artist: Thure de Thulstrup
A restored L. Prang and Company print after Thure de Thulstrup's painting Hancock at Gettysburg. The scene is Pickett's Charge: massed Union infantry fire into the smoke while a mounted officer rallies the line, artillery rushes across churned ground, and Confederate battle flags show in the distance. The account distinguishes observation and curatorial reading from the disputed catalogue record and the digital restoration.
